About Lorraine Breen (She/ Her)

Over 16 years experience in the philanthropy field. A founding Executive Board member of the SED Fund and COO responsible for providing leadership and managing the optimal delivery of the team, systems, processes, and partnerships to meet the foundation's goals. Formerly Programme Manager of the European Power programme at the European Climate Foundation before moving to launch and manage ECF's international programme for a portfolio of partners to scale up their impact. Previously worked as a consultant for the Bernard van Leer Foundation on impact assessment to evaluate their work on early childhood development in Kenya over a 40 year period, and Poland over 20 years to mark their exit from these countries. Before the move to the Netherlands worked in London at the Health Foundation, an independent charity working to improve the quality of healthcare in the UK. Career also includes work in public administration as a Business Analyst and Policy Officer for the EU and UK and NSW government departments. After BA started career in the corporate sector initially completing a three-year graduate management development programme (AIB Bank) and then project managing the development and implementation of IT enabled quality management systems across core function areas in both the corporate and government sector (Salans - an international law firm now merged with Dentons, AIB Bank, SSAT). Graduated with a first class honours Masters in Cultural Policy and Arts Management from University College Dublin through which developed a keen interest in management theory and practice as well as cultural studies and philanthropy.
