About Lorraine Rodriguez
Hello! I am a working professional with a Master of Social Work degree from California Baptist University. The profession of social work is my calling because I want to assist others with healing in the most impactful way possible. My undergrad was at SFSU and I attained my B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education. San Francisco provided me tremendous growth in learning how to navigate the city, volunteer opportunities, interacting with a diverse population, and expand my knowledge of the world by taking a wide range of courses. CBU's intergration of faith in it's curriculum is a remarkable asset for clients who hold faith close to them. My passion and drive is to work in mental health and substance abuse, specifically with veterans. The military community has been a constant support growing up with several family members serving, living in military housing, and receiving funding for my education. My goal is to give back to the community that has supported me throughout my life. I am currently attaining hours for my LCSW. From there, I look forward to seeing what will come as I am enthusiastic about all levels of social work.

CTRI is a non-profit research institute serving the community. They just started a new project, Prevention and Remediation for ACEs and Toxic Stress (PRATS) and serve the City of Pomona and surrounding communities. I am part of a sub task force, the Clinical Task Force (CTF) providing evidence-based practices and tools to combat and cope with mental health disparities. As a social work intern (SWI) I collaborate on the resource guide, the guide book, and presented a workshop with other SWI. I have been assigned 3 student mentors to supervise weekly. I am actively participating in the Research TF, Grant TF and Community TF. I outreach to community members for services and collaborations. Since my internship is completely online, I provide my clients with telehealth services.

BBFFA is a non-profit agency serving LA county and San Bernardino county. Their mission is to promote, support, enhance, and strengthen the development of children's well-being while providing safety and permanency. Hired on as a social work intern at BBFFFA I was given the amazing opportunity to assist in the UAC program and the domestic program. I assisted three ASW on the UAC side with researching proper documents to reunite kids with their family. On the domestic side, I shadowed two ASW in home visits and completed documentation after each visit. I also assisted with three recertifications and one placement. I also collaborated with three other interns to create a new year of the Independent Learning Program (ILP) for foster youths aging out of the system to be prepared for their next phase of life. I also ran one CE workshop for resource parents and conducted two CAPS trainings.
