As a full-time student at UTSA, I am determined to leverage my knowledge and experiences to make a meaningful impact in our shared quest for a more sustainable future, ensuring access to clean water and nutritious food for all beings on Earth. I am actively pursuing my studies while also contributing to my community through my role as a Peer Mentor and Student Ambassador at Alamo Colleges. I was fortunate to have received a Pell grant for most of the semesters I attended community college. I also received a several scholarships directly based on my GPA and field of study. I was invited to and have now joined Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi. I was part of PAC’s Honors program and based on recommendations from my PAC mentor I joined the Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) National Biological Honor Society.I participated in the Alamo Colleges Study Abroad (ACSA) program in Ireland/Scotland in Summer/2019. My courses were Honors Environmental Science and English Comp I. I had plans to participate in Study Abroad program in Spain in Summer/2020 and had received a Gilman Scholarship however due to COVID the trip was cancelled. I also have extensive experience in Sales and Service with an emphasis in Marketing which has enabled me to work well with multi-age groups. I've worked with my peers, upper-management, corporate and retail management and associates, seniors, young adults, elementary-age, middle and high schoolers, and toddlers. I have used these valuable skills as an an Instructional Assistant and as a PTA Board Member. It’s all about making connections with others, being enthusiastic in the process, and then one sees the results from the wonderfully entertaining experience.The main reason I chose Environmental Science - the value of our natural resources.Specialties: I enjoy learning and sharing newly acquired knowledge and skills with others. I have an innate ability to make connections between the subjects of learning for a more comprehensive world-view perspective. My experience in contract negotiation, purchasing, non-profit marketing, and fundraising are skills that I use to help me in learning the academics of my real world experiences. I have trained other in sales and customer service and I use these skills and knowledge when dealing with the professors who are teaching me now.
