On her own time, Lotus researched several OCR libraries, highlighting the pros and cons of each option before selecting Google's Cloud Vision API. Lotus was instrumental in implementing this feature and writing a custom algorithm to parse the returned data. Despite having never used OCR or our backend framework, Firebase, Lotus also encouraged us to learn React Native to support cross-platform functionality on our frontend. In this instance, and in several others, Lotus wasn't afraid to offer and advocate her opinion. Overall, I am proud of the final product we produced, and Lotus' contributions were invaluable in ensuring our success.
