Extensive professional experience in a variety of engineering and business development activities involving power laser diodes, HDTV CRT systems, optical sensors, electro-optic modulators, Laser range finders, and OLED devices. Technical project management experience includes:• Led a 2-year multi-site investigation into hybrid silicon nano-photonic coherent optical devices. for LightWave Logic. • As Principal investigator for Lumera, proposed, budgeted and managed an Air Force BAA: “Ultra linear Directional Coupler Based on High Performance Electro-optic Polymers”. Ensured on time completion and appropriate corporate resource allocation, issued summary interim performance reports and led multiple face to face customer presentations with AFRL-SNDP• Led sourcing, procurement, installation and qualification of custom designed DRIE-ICP and metallization equipment. Built a new guided wave optic high speed test lab and instituted fully traceable material and device performance tracking systems.• Drove nLight’s M203 range finder based laser component program through a gate based product development business cycle. Qualified new vendors, identified, analyzed and eliminated significant cost of poor quality issues in the legacy supply chain.• Managed the Philips Electron-optic HDTV design from hands-on prototype development in Eindhoven N.V. through specification, installation, and development of a multi-tool production line for mass production in Juarez Mexico of 32V digital TV assemblies.Strong experience in six sigma based lean manufacturing methodologies & management of high volume production environments. Many years of hands-on expertise in clean room and laser based optical system development. Awarded multiple patents in the design and fabrication of coherent optical systems.
