Metro Area• Chief Engineer (Global Argus) - MITRE and Georgetown University (GU) were migrating this MITRE “proof of concept” system into a production environment. Responsible for the early MITRE and GU IT team’s efforts relative to the installation of a nationally critical IT system supporting Avian Flu research. Activities included: requirements definition, refining/documenting systems approach and creating project’s InfoSec policy.• Multi-Discipline Systems Engineer, Lead – Primary role at customer site (NCTC) was addressing Disaster Recovery/COOP issues within the CIO organization. These varied activities (implementation of COOP site, identification of critical system and network vulnerabilities and dependencies, interfacing to other Agencies, networking and data center design, CONOPS, …) were enterprise-wide. -

Metro AreaResponsible for successfully leading a number of Enterprise IT critical projects including: - Disaster Recovery Project Lead: Disregarded IBM Consulting's proposal to develop an improved cost/benefit approach that addressed significant challenges to this 24x7 operational environment. Developed technical approach, drove implementation (including a small auxiliary Data Center) and authored Business Recovery plan. Cost: ~$ 1M (not adjusted for inflation) - Citrix Thin Client Project Lead: Identified concept, secured funding (thru excellent ROI), selected vendor and led the implementation of a Citrix implementation into a 24x7 manufacturing environment. Disaster tolerant Citrix server farm supported: MS Office, SAP & Lotus Notes Clients and additional applications. Eventually supported 400 user work stations. - Tivoli Systems Monitoring Project Lead: Implemented proactive systems monitoring of Enterprise (heterogeneous) systems including: Lotus Notes, SAP, CITRIX Server Farm and other unique applications. Integrated with existing Level 1 support cadre. This was IBM's sole internal implementation of Manufacturing Messaging Specification (MMS); MMS is now the basis for the Utility Communications Architecture (UCA). Responsible for full SDLC (concepts/design/architecture/implementation), vendor selection, budgeting and implementation. Included the implementation of a 450Mhz broadband cable plant (CATV) which provided the following services: dynamically configured video surveillance of factory operations, audio (telephone & PA) and data (PC-Net + 802.4). Project presented at conferences in the US & Germany. (Cost: >>$1.2M (not adjusted for inflation))• Project Lead of an IBM corporate critical robotic centric manufacturing system supporting Multi-Layer Ceramic (MLC) module sintering; achieved dramatic availability improvements.• Developed application software using a variety of programming languages (machine language, assembler, APL, EDL) on a variety of micro and mini computer platforms (8-bit & 16-bit micros and the IBM Series/1 minicomputer) to automate R&D electrical characterization of semiconductor devices ranging from basic MOS structures to functional testing of memory and logic designs. Included integrating various tools (semiconductor wafer probers, temperature controllers, test pattern generators, electronics (A/D, D/A, TTL, analog) and instrumentation .
