Brian Lou is a Software Engineer II at NMI. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working with Brian for over a year and had the opportunity to manage him during that time. During our time together, I found him to be an extremely valuable member of our team and an asset to our organization. One of the things that stood out to me about Brian was his hands-on knowledge of React and his ability to teach the rest of the team about this technology. As someone who was new to React, I personally found his guidance and expertise to be incredibly helpful. He was patient and thorough in his explanations, and he always took the time to ensure that everyone on the team was up to speed on the latest developments in react. In addition to his technical skills, Brian also had a solid understanding of design principles and clean code standards. He always took the time to ensure that his work was of the highest quality, and he had the tenacity to tackle even the most complex and challenging tasks. This was particularly evident when he took on the task of updating and modernizing some of our older, legacy code. His ability to navigate this 20 year old codebase and make it more efficient and effective was truly impressive. I was also impressed by Brian's ability to listen and learn from others, as well as contribute to the conversation. He was always open to hearing new ideas and perspectives, and he had a knack for synthesizing diverse viewpoints into cohesive and effective solutions. This helped both of us to grow personally and professionally, and I appreciate the value that he brought to our team. Given his strong skills and work ethic, I pushed for an early promotion for Brian because I believed that he was clearly well above the entry level position. I have no doubt that he will continue to excel in any role that he takes on, and I have every confidence that he will be an asset to any team he joins. I hope to have the opportunity to work with Brian again in the future, and I highly recommend him.
