Navigating the deadlines of News Corp's weekly newspaper life: I have been tasked to produce the Sunday editions of "Stellar" and "Body+Soul". Despite working to arguably templated page design, I have found this role to be a great opportunity to polish design skills, to learn how to think quickly on your feet, make decisions and find solutions within very tight deadlines. So far I have created print and digital content for over 124 issues. The team is small and agile - on a daily basis I work in close quarters with our editors, producer, fashion and copy teams - while also organising content from external suppliers such as photographers. As the keen creative I wear many hats, from one-off book design to styling still-life, packaging and producing glossy magazines visuals ...Projects include:LATTE MAGAZINE: Throughout the entire creative process of this Business Chicks publication (10yrs as a client), I art directed the magazine design with bold typography, workable page templates- updating the imagery to be more relevant and dynamic. At deadline, I produced and organised all of the print-ready files.CCIA: At the NFP Children's Cancer Institute, I freelanced as the brand champion, working on the development of the Institute’s brand guidelines, internally & externally. On a day-to-day basis I produced a selection of the digital assets and printed collateral (Eg. Web banners, social media assets, booklets and a range of event signage) to promote the Institute’s varied and ongoing fundraising events Eg. Diamond Ball & Dinner, Endure For A Cure, Dare For A Cure. I developed illustrated infographics to promote the Institute’s key messaging through social media assets and event signage.THE PROJECT DINNER: A charity "Kids Cancer Project", I managed the creative vision, developed logo and brand content for this unique event. Collaborated with the team to organise fundraising black tie auction event at Doltone House. Designed and organised all production of event collateral: menu, invites etc. Rode 5ookms in far north QLD, from Mission Beach Port Douglas, to raise funds for the cause.AWW BOOKS: Concept, briefing and art direction of "Cake & Co" hardcover cookbook, 288 pages of mouth watering cake recipes. I created and distributed mood boards and style briefs for the direction of the photography & styling.
