Delivering strategic partnerships, youth engagement projects and ensuring meaningful youth voice and participation in the Yarra Ranges area

The Office for Youth leads the development and implementation of policy, programs and initiatives to enhance community and economic participation of young Victorians.- Provide advice, recommendations and solutions to complex and sensitive youth issues- Development of youth programs within the Victorian Youth Policy. This includes strategy development, design, monitoring and evaluation of the following projects: Youth Space Latrobe, Victorian Youth Congress and Victorian Youth Summit 2018, among other things.- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across a broad spectrum of government, community, and private sectors

DISA manage the implementation and coordination of individualised funding for people with disability.- Coordinating and delegating tasks associated with high volume workload- Communicating with wide range of stakeholders, including clients, families, departmental staff, and organisations to trouble-shoot and problem solve- Data management and analysis, particularly with Microsoft Excel

Oaktree is Australia’s largest youth-run organisation. It funds local NGOs to implement innovative education projects and also partners with youth-led organisations who strive for social change across the Asia-Pacific.- Development of communication, inclusivity, and youth participation strategy in collaboration with the Head of International Engagement- Development and implementation of overseas partner accountability policies- Directly managing the Communications Officer, Inclusion Officer, and Team Support Officer- Supporting overseas trips in both the planning, execution and post-trip phases- Monitoring and evaluation of overseas education partner programs- Implementation of the Communications Strategy.- Creatively finding ways to communicate about poverty that distances itself from traditional repesentations.- Coordinating major communication project work addressing issues with the way poverty is portrayed in mainstream media- Producing content on Oaktree’s overseas impact work for use by Campaigns Team

Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA) is the national peak body that represents children and young people with disability - http://www.cda.org.au/ - Research, information sourcing and assistance with project work - Contribute to the work of CYDA in relation to systematic representation on issues relevant to children and young people with disability- Contribute to high quality and timely advice to the Australian government- Contribute to CYDA's website- Contribute to development of CYDA's publication of Listen Up!

Supported people with mobility and intellectual disabilities in residential care. - front-line work- professional practice- coordination between health service providers- managed teams of support workers to deliver quality services.

Gained extensive knowledge about Swedish social services, working within systems and strengths theory, experience of one-on-one informal counseling, teaching, and management.Statens institutionsstyrelse, or the Swedish Board of Institutional Care, provides a uniquely Swedish system of special residential homes. Stigby Skolan was a part jail, part school for young men delivering compulsory care, treatment, and intervention, many for whom had problematic drug and alcohol issues.

Gained knowledge about how to work as social worker in a school environment.Responsibilities included coordinating play-therapy classes, planning an ‘anti-bullying campaign’ to be run throughout the school, individual counseling, group counseling, and interventions.

Facilitated group therapy sessions, discussions, and activities for three youth groups for siblings of children with disabilities. Position required extensive knowledge of psychological interventions, social theory, and understanding of disability from a systems perspective.

Affirming Families program helps families to develop and maintain behaviour management plans for families with children living with a disability. Learned a great deal about behavioural psychology and models of intervention. Responsibilities included visiting homes, advocacy, developing behaviour management plans, research, connecting support programs to assist families, and supporting staff.
