As an Associate in the Litigation department, I gained several different experiences including managing the discovery in an insider trading investigation, helping prepare witnesses for depositions in a civil securities fraud case, and litigating a pro bono appeal before New York's Appellate Division.

Working as a BSA was one of my most personally and professional enriching experiences at HLS. I served as a TA for Legal Research & Writing and as a mentor to 1Ls. I served as Vice President of the Ames Moot Court Competition in my second year with the organization.

The United States Attorney Clinic gave me the opportunity to work alongside dedicated public servants using their legal talents for the greater good. I wrote a motion in limine that argued for the admission of out-of-court statements in a public corruption trial, a motion in opposition to a motion to sever a defendant’s trial from her co-defendant’s trial, and a motion in opposition to a habeas petition.

One of the largest projects I worked on as a summer associate was a criminal securities fraud trial in the Southern District of New York. Working as a student attorney in the Appeals Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office gave me the opportunity to learn about public service and what it means to be a government lawyer. I drafted memoranda in opposition to habeas petitions, attended hearings, and helped moot a case involving alleged sex trafficking.

Working at ATF allowed me to continue developing as a writer and as a legal professional. I drafted a memorandum that analyzed whether the United States could use a defendant's foreign convictions as evidence that the defendant was an unlawful user of a controlled substance. Joining the Recording Artists Project gave me the opportunity to help artists succeed in the music industry. In collaboration with other team members, I researched, drafted, and reviewed contracts that musicians could use when forming professional agreements with managers, producers, band members, and contributing artists.

Interning at Goldstein, Edgar & Reagan was my first substantive exposure to a legal practice. I developed my legal research and writing skills by drafting motions such as a brief in opposition to a plea of sovereign immunity. As a Communication Tutor, it was my responsibility to help students create effective presentations. I helped research topics, reviewed outlines, and gave feedback on mock presentations. I also trained other tutors on informative and persuasive writing.

Becoming an RA gave me the opportunity to mentor roughly thirty freshmen males as they transitioned into college. Furthermore, I worked with other RAs to organize several community outreach programs such as an environmental awareness campaign.

Working at Marriott allowed me to develop both my technical and communication abilities. I calibrated electronics, repaired machinery, and adjusted chemical factors to ensure several industrial-sized pools and spas remained operable. I also assisted guests and resolved maintenance problems throughout the resort.

I am proud to have started my professional career by working in retail. As a Seasonal Support Associate, my responsibilities included managing product displays, organizing inventory, and assisting customers during the hectic holiday shopping season.
