I studied an undergrad in Psychology in 2003 at Stellenbosch University followed by a postgraduate diploma in marketing management at UCT. At this stage I was not quite ready for the corporate world so I packed my traveling bag and set of a 6-year working and traveling adventure. My background in ocean sailing landed me on a 50m wooden schooner, which was my first introduction to woodwork. With a keen interest in boat design I landed up spending my final year in Holland in one of the worlds finest boat building yards where I over saw the deck fitting and construction on a brand new 45m motor yacht. Upon returning to South Africa it was time for me to utilise my marketing degree so I entered the marketing industry for 2 years whilst refining my CAD knowledge. In my spare I would design and build furniture pieces, which appealed to my taste. Once my home was fully furnished I started building and selling bespoke pieces and discovered that furniture design and manufacturing was my true calling.
