Judges of elections are responsible for the administration of election procedures in the polling place on election day. They are in the position of ensuring that the election process is administered fairly and in accordance with the law.

I started out teaching a Computer Skills course to High School Seniors during the 2012-2013 school year! October 1st, 2013 through March 1st, 2014, I served as the Acting Assistant Coordinator. I assisted the Coordinator of the Program as needed. I continued to teach a Computer Skills/Keyboarding course and an Intro to Business course to all High School levels (9-12) to the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

As an AVID Tutor I was able to establish relationships with students in middle schools and high schools that I tutored at. While tutoring I was able to hear multiple student ideas at both the middle school and high school levels. I have tutored at Franklin, and Jefferson Middle School as well as Lanphier, Springfield, and Southeast High Schools.

At the age of 19, I ran for School Board to give students and the community at large a voice on the School Board. Being that I was fresh out of the Springfield Public School system I believed it gave me a better understanding on the issues that were facing students in the upcoming future. Even though I didn't win the election, I still broke a record of being one of the youngest people to ever run for office in the State of Illinois.

In the summer of 2009, I again went with my idea to former Superintendent Dr. Milton to expand the Student Board into all three High Schools. Once, I was given approval I immediately begun working on expanding the Student Boards to include each high school. I was able to successfully acquire a possible Federal Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for green technology projects for students. Dr. Milton former Superintendent of Schools asked me to serve as a representative on this committee to give student input on future schools.

When my term was finished as President of the Lanphier High School Student Board Committee, I was asked to stay on as the Advisor/Director of the Committee. As the Advisor/Director of the Committee, I was able to strengthen communication by building faculty and staff relationships with students. This position gave me the chance to work more diligently with students.

I was able to start this Student Board Committee with permisson from Superintendent Dr. Walter Milton, and Mrs. Shelia Boozer. During this time students were not informed on issues, and building communication with students needed to be improved. As Committee President, I was a personal student advisor to then Principal Mrs. Shelia Boozer. We were able to get many problems resolved, that were needed, and some of these policies are still enforced by Principal Artie Doss.

This position taught me about daily office functions. I answered phones, filed contracts, entered and created a new contract database for the Bureau of Operations.
