Partner, Attorney
CurrentMy job duties included marketing, which involved attending union meetings, speaking at seminars, advising union representatives, creating news stories regarding trials and other case events; I also spoke with and met prospective clients, gave them advice and did my best to answer their questions; I signed hundreds of current and former clients; I've handled hundreds of clients' cases, from the initial meeting through the closure of the claim, be it by successful settlement resolution, or after the trial and appeal, when warranted. I counseled many injured workers, who after careful review, I concluded the person did not need an attorney's representation, but answered his or her questions, suggested different options so the worker could handle his or her own claim directly with the claims representative, creating a 'win-win' situation for all involved; I provided guidance to our young attorneys, making suggestions on how he or she might improve his or her client's case; I oftentimes assisted an associate's deposition preparation, as well as offer constructive critique afterward.I did my best to encourage our associates, drawing upon past experiences to try and teach an easier, more effective and economical result.
