This role encompasses both the clinical and research domains of the lab. My research focuses on the future of cancer genomics through liquid biopsies and the creation of targeted panels where we are sequencing both solid tissue and circulating tumors across cancer types through the hospital system to understand better the accuracy of liquid biopsies and the creation of targeted panels through ddpcr.My responsibilities include:● Maintaining and setting up the networking and data flow of the lab. From sequencing to tertiary analysis and the clinical reporting structure.● Managing software and administration from acquisition to admin and maintenance. Including our databases and and analysis software that hosts our secondary, tertiary analysis.● Programming for both the general benefit of the lab and analysis of results for peer-reviewed presentations and publications.● Created databases of external genomics companies such as Foundation, Caris, Tempus, and our data.● Assisted in the validation of our lab through CAP certification.● Liquid handler automation

Predicting Transcription Factor Activities from scRNAseq and Motif-hits. In order to lower the number of Dropouts from Single-cell analysis and have a higher understanding of cell fate.

As part of the BRCA exchange team, I worked on predicting cancer pathogenicity of mutations by calculating the change of energy in a protein based on its 3D structure and other features such as the location of the mutation the 3d structure. (Python, Bash) {NIH funded BD2K program}

Assisted in the creation of an algorithm that calculates a single differentially expressed de Bruijn graph from two similar organisms in order to better understand an organism that that doesn't have a reference genome. Also worked on figuring out if differentially expressed Khmers can be used as predictors for cancer pathogenicity in order to cut the time of assembly and aligning.

Worked in the genetic discrimination of two phenotypically similar tumor types in the kidneys which presented drastically different patient outcome in the LaFramboise laboratory in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. (Python, Excel, Linux, IPA, RNA-seq) {NIH funded BD2K program}
