Head Of Leadership, Culture & Talent

London, England, Gb

This has been a fantastic role giving me the opportunity to use my strengths in strategic thinking, relationship development, innovation and problem solving to a broader and more senior level. Working in a Group role, across five business units totalling approx 3000 colleagues, 80% are warehouse based. I have lead a small team to deliver welcomed cultural change and upskilled 500 people leaders at all levels.Top achievements include:✨Design and in-house delivery of a cultural change leadership development programme Leading at Restore' which has lead to an increase in ongoing coaching conversations and a steady increase in online learning on our valued 'Coaching Culture' performance platform. Approx. 90% of leaders claim greater confidence after the programme which provided tools and techniques plus includes a behavioural framework benchmarked to national levels 3, 5 & 7. This programme continues to deliver significant Return on Expectation amongst a community who largely haven't had leadership development before.✨Establishing our wellbeing proposition. This is a personal win for me given my personal value around the topic. Our model covers four key aspects of wellbeing which we researched. We've developed a digital home for all wellbeing resources, ran offline campaigns to promote Colleague Support services, taken our reporting on types of absence to the next level, that includes whether its stress related, at what age and gender, supporting our community of MHFA more proactively and seen our EAP service reach a steady increase of usage each month.✨ Establishing Colleague Networks and collecting DEIB personal data from Colleagues. Starting with a low base of data across the protected characteristics, we worked engaged our Leaders & Colleagues in a campaigned called This Is Me designed to get us to at least 60% data completion giving us a richer insight into the landscape of protected characteristics across the workforce & develop our data led DEIB strategy.

Head Of Global Leadership Development

London, England, Gb

I absolutely loved my time at The Body Shop. I joined at the time that they had established their three core values and had partnered with a brilliant boutique consultancy in London who specialised in purpose driven leadership. From there I lead a small team to deliver our part of the broader cultural change programme which included global induction, embedding our values and delivering a three day Purpose Driven Leadership programme (PDLP) for leaders and Store Managers globally. The PDLP included strengths focus approach, powerful NLP techniques and touched on the things that make The Body Shop stand out such as activism. I further developed my skills of working in a matrix organisation and on a global scale, plus took my facilitation skills to the next level. I most enjoyed meeting people from around the world, taking them on their 3 day leadership journey and seeing the results.Proudest achievements: ✨ The PDLP delivered an increase in like for like sales which varied amongst regions.✨ Developing an online global induction programme ✨ Taking the PDLP online and creating Wellbeing modules which we delivered globally during the pandemic to drive connection during that first lockdown.

I was promoted into this role and thoroughly enjoyed the focus on leadership development and talent. This was a role that further development me as a leader. Top achievements include:✨I led developing the Leadership framework, called the Leadership Agreement, which was a set of behaviours with accompanying development tools and a bespoke team workshop to help address strengths and development actions. This was a product that served the business during that phase of cultural development. ✨ We delivered various talent development activities from Early Careers to ExCo that aligned with business priorities and built capabilities plus supported career development. We simplified our approach to talent management and introduced a talent risk calculation to help us identify with clarity the roles and people that were at higher risk.✨ We revolutionised our approach to performance management, moving away from annual / bi-annual cycle towards a more OCR aligned approach. This included changes to the HRIS, training for all colleagues and line managers plus tracking impact through reporting and stakeholder management.

Digital Transformation Lead - People Development

Salford, England, Gb

Initially, the business was recruiting for a project manager to lead on implementing Workday Learning, as an Early Adopter. I then approach the HR leadership team and asked if they would consider me to take the role. I knew I hadn't done something like that before but it was a good opportunity to learn. After discussing what support I would need, and how we would manage the work I was doing at the time, I got the secondment.Top achievements include: ✨ A trip to Silicon Valley to work directly with the product development team which has led to the product now available today. ✨ Developing our learning culture and attitude towards learning in the business. This was in partnership with our communications teams and involved campaigns to drive education and awareness about learning in the run up to Go Live, and included more campaigns to drive adoption. ✨ We went live with zero technical issues!

This was my very first job at TalkTalk, and was the start of a brilliant 4.5 years to come with some of the best leaders I have had the pleasure of working with. I developed my influencing skills, commercial thinking and understanding of digital tools this role. Top Achievements include: ✨I revolutionised our flagship Mentoring programme which saw record high applications and matching of colleagues with senior leaders providing best in class Mentoring. This involved lots of influencing because the programme was highly regarded and a long standing product for the HR community but I saw opportunities to improve it and took it to the next level.✨ I enhanced the existing Spot Coaching programme which meant all coaching spaces were booked and we never lost investment, plus could report on impact of the programme which led to its permanent fixture in budget and annual plans. ✨ I examined investments on training and development and proposed cost changes plus enhancements we then made to get stronger ROI and engagement.
