Louis has now been named 13 years in a row as one of the World’s Leading Intellectual Property Strategists by the British Intellectual Assets Management (IAM) magazine. Founder and CEO of TANGIBLE IP, LLC, a leading patent brokering and IP advisory firm, focusing on IP strategies and patent monetization, Louis has successfully brokered the sale of over 5000 patents, returning tens of millions of dollars to the patent owners. Louis also completed dozens of strategic IP advisory engagement for clients.Adjunct professor for the University of Washington's Graduate Program in Intellectual Property Law & Policy where he has taught courses on IP Licensing for several years.Venture Partner & strategic advisor to Cycle Capital, one of the largest clean tech fund manager in North America and to Cycle Momentum, a clean tech startup accelerator.Louis has also sat on the board of a few technology startups.Prior to 2009, Louis worked at Microsoft Corporation for 15 years where he was the GM, International IP & Licensing, a member of the patent group management team and the lead business and IP counsel to various business units. Louis also served in a senior business role at Microsoft as the GM, Outbound Licensing & IP Ventures, where he was primarily responsible for the commercialization and outbound licensing activities of Microsoft's technology and intellectual property assets. During that period, he structured and negotiated numerous complex transactions with startups, SMBs and Fortune 500 companies.
