Louis Carr has been with BET Networks for over 38 years. Since 2002 he has served as the President of Media Sales. He was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2023. Carr was recognized with the ADCOLOR Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.Carr has transformed the multicultural advertising space for some of the world's biggest brands like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, McDonald's, General Motors, Facebook, Apple, and more. He is a consultant to Corporate America, providing education on how to reach Black and Brown communities through linear TV, digital, and social platforms. The results have made BET Networks the number one brand and choice for Black consumers. Led by Carr’s data-driven leadership, BET has built the largest ever repository of information on Black media consumers, helping to inform marketing efforts around the globe.Carr's stellar professional career is complemented by a long-term commitment to young people and community. The Louis Carr Internship Foundation was founded in 2003 and has created 200+ paid internships and 60+ alums who have secured a full-time job within the industry.He also founded Waymaker, a brand launched in 2021 to provide direction, wisdom and inspiration to people wanting to grow their life and change the world. The quarterly Waymaker Journal and Waymaker Fireside Chat podcast offers insight from subject-matter experts across a wide range of fields. The Waymaker Men’s Summit is a free event that brings together some of Black America's high profile thought leaders to educate Black men in the areas of Finance, Health, Careers, Relationships, and Entrepreneurship. Carr has authored two books, Dirty Little Secrets and Little Black Book: Daily Motivations for Business and Personal Growth. He openly lays out his blueprint to greatness, covering much-needed topics like Leadership, Culture, Strategy, Vision, Success, and Diversity.
