Work is based across a broad spectrum of media and almost exclusively concerns advertising. The work can be completely different media from one day to the next. The company has extensive online sales site in Europe and work for that includes major graphics campaigns for websites, video, interactive games, email and social media. The company has a presence in all the largest European sales exhibitions concerning electronics so has a regular requirement for stand graphics and print advertising.Design work mostly centres around use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign but can include freehand drawing for sketching ideas, animation for social media or ad banners. Code work centres around web pages and HTML emails. Senior duties include creating entire projects from concept and design through to implementation. Helping less experienced team members usually with website and code needs. Organising projects with marketing team. Managing life cycle of other team members projects when required.The part of the company I work for is really a creative agency for the clients the main company sells products for, they piggy back the work from the clients, so Texas Instruments might have a need for a poster for an upcoming event, or it might need a set of web pages for a webinar. We would then design all the required assets and liaise with a contact at the company to proof the work, then produce all the required assets.

The Olds Group represents several businesses based on food production, and they sell nationally to the major supermarkets and to a lesser degree some international sales.Work included print design for catalogues, advertising graphics, packaging, banners and support material. Digital design work includes websites, HTML email, social media posting and videos. Responsibilities include collaborating on and presenting marketing ideas, converting ideas into rough sketch, organising and working with freelancers including writers, photographers, videograpers, other designers and third party service providers like printers.Major projects have included a complete redesign of two large websites coupled with an extensive overhaul of social media, focusing in particular on YouTube and video. Implementation of new company logo, mostly re-branding company wide assets like signage, stationary, clothing, everything digital- websites, videos and so on. The logo also required variants for other sub companies in different languages. Development of a new range of food products which required a comprehensive advertising and marketing campaign from packaging to social media.

Working for a London based design agency Oink, who employed me full time as a web animator and developer on digital advertising. The bulk of the work was for their client Reckitt Benckiser, and their brands E45, Finish, Gavsicon, Nurofen, Scholl and Veet. This work involved very large banner campaigns, sometimes thousands of banners, for use both nationally and internationally. eOne film distributors also supplied a lot of work for up and coming films, which represented the opposite end of the scale in that there were fewer items to make, but the complexity of these items was high and involved lots of visual effects, video and audio as well as interactivity.
