As well as helping on the family farm in East Lothian I enjoy my work as a Director of the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland, as a Chief Steward at the RHS overseeing Scotland's Larder, Home & Gift Hall and Food for Thought theatre; as well as Comms lead for Society communications to members, Chairing the Membership Working Group and being an elected Member on the Executive Committee.I was founder and business owner of Black & Gold for 11 years where we produced oil from our farm grown rapeseed; business which lead to my involvement with helping other small businesses to found the first food & drink sector BID for East Lothian and to join the Board of East Lothian investment Ltd.In my academic career I enjoyed working in marketing the museum collections through running temporary exhibitions. This started a passion for sales and marketing using available technology and I worked for the first internet cafe in Edinburgh in the 90s, followed by Direct Marketing at Adobe Systems Europe and Napiers Direct, Edinburgh. Starting my own business consolidated my experience and I now celebrate sharing small business success across my networks.
