Postdoctoral Researcher and Trial Coordinator for the HRB DIFA Award 2018 PIPPRA project.

The focus of my PhD research was behaviour change for physical activity in people with rheumatoid arthritis. My PhD research was supervised by Dr. Norelee Kennedy (Dept. of Clinical Therapies, University of Limerick), Dr. Stephen Gallagher (Dept. of Psychology, University of Limerick) and Dr. Alexander Fraser (Consultant Rheumatologist, Limerick University Hospitals and University of Limerick Medical School).

Outpatient physiotherapy for clients with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological and cardiorespiratory conditions.Event organiser for Arthritis Awareness Day in Nenagh hospital on 13th October 2016 which was attended by over 100 members of hospital staff and members of the public.Conducted an internal audit of physiotherapy documentation.

In Galway PCCC I was responsible for managing people with general MSK conditions and neurological conditions in the outpatient and domiciliary setting.I previously worked in the rehabilitation unit at Merlin Park Hospital, Galway where I provided physiotherapy to people with stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, and other neurological conditions such as CIDP and CADASIL. In addition I provided rehabilitation to people post orthopaedic procedures and general deconditioning after acute hospital stays.

I provided physiotherapy to rheumatology and musculoskeletal clients at Mid West Physiotherapy. The clinic has a specialist Arthritis Clinic.

I taught for The Bump Room, which delivers pregnancy exercise classes in the Limerick region.

As a temporary lecturer at the Dept of Clinical Therapies I was responsible for the development and delivery of the neuroanatomy module to undergraduate physiotherapy students for the Spring semester of 2014. This role encompassed preparation and delivery of module lectures, tutorials and practical labs, in addition to practical and theoretical examination of the module. The role required liaison with other module leaders to ensure a linked teaching approach for students.

I acted as research assistant to Karen McCreesh (HRB Fellow). As part of this role I was involved in organising the seminar "Evidence–Based Management of Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy" in April 2013, which was funded by the Health Research Board of Ireland. The seminar was attended by over 120 healthcare professionals and key note speakers included Dr. Jeremy Lewis (Research and Innovation Lead, Central London, Community Healthcare NHS Trust, London and Reader in Physiotherapy, University of Hertfordshire), Mr. Ross Kingston (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee, Co Kerry), Mr. Eoin O’Conaire (Director & Chartered Physiotherapist, Evidence-Based Therapy Centre, Galway) and Karen McCreesh (Health Research Board Fellow and Lecturer, Department of Clinical Therapies, University of Limerick).As part of the role I was also involved in Shoulder Community of Practice. This involves working with a core group of physiotherapists around the topic of shoulder assessment and management, running monthly journal clubs on these topics and developing resources for the Shoulder Community of Practice website (http://www.shouldercommunity.com/). The website provides evidence-based information on assessment, outcome measurement and management of shoulder pain conditions. Physiotherapist Resources which are available on the website include patient information leaflets, exercise demonstration videos and a patient exercise diary. There is also a regular Blog on shoulder pain and a Discussion Forum where shoulder pain can be discussed with other healthcare professionals.

As lecturer in Physiotherapy my role involved lecturing for the Psychology for Physiotherapists module and also teaching Lower Limb anatomy and Neuroanatomy tutorials, preparation and dissemination of written and practical exam papers and supervision of students for research modules on the undergraduate Physiotherapy course.I acted as research assistant to Karen McCreesh (HRB Fellow). I acted as team physiotherapist to the Galway Senior, Intermediate, Minor and U-16 camogie teams for the 2013 season. This was a very successful season for Galway camogie, with both the Senior and Intermediate teams being crowned All-Ireland champions.

My role involved working with clients in nursing home settings and also with individuals in their own homes. • Orthopaedics: Post-op management of upper and lower limb surgeries or fractures• Musculoskeletal: Assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal problems• Rheumatology: Management strategies for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis• Neurology: Management of clients post CVA, Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis• Respiratory: Assessment and management of respiratory infections, COPD and asthma• Falls Prevention: Mobility and balance assessments, intervention programmes • Education: Educational talks to staff nurses, care assistants and residents

As part of my guest lecturer role I was involved in teaching tutorials, the development of the written examination component, and examination of the practical component of the neuroanatomy module for second year undergraduate physiotherapy students.

I was employed by MS Ireland to coordinate and administer MS "Get The Balance Right" group classes for Strand A (independently mobile) and Strand B (bilateral support) clients.

I provided physiotherapy at U-14, U-15, U-16 Galway and Connacht hurling tournaments.

I was team physiotherapist to the All-Ireland winning Galway U-18 camogie team and was team physiotherapist to the Galway U-16 A and B camogie panels. I also provided cover to the Galway Senior and Intermediate camogie teams for training sessions and challenge matches.
