I'm interested in the areas of Quality Assurance, Teaching, Higher Education, and exploring using creative ways to promote learning. Since 2015 I have worked as a Senior Academic Developer in Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching at Swansea University where I support staff to gain recognition of their teaching or support for learners through the appropriate category of Advance HE fellowship and teach on the PG Cert. I hold SFHEA recognition and am a Certified Online Learning Facilitator and use those skills to help train staff in the effective use of Zoom as a platform to deliver synchronous learning opportunities. I particularly enjoy engaging in the weekly #LTHEChat on learning and teaching issues when possible. I am currently promoting the development of a resource and support for programme directors.Prior to my current role, I worked at Swansea University in the area of Quality Assurance for 15 years overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing review of QA processes of academic disciplines, e.g. module review, programme review, external examining and support programme directors. I also supported the University's Learning and Teaching Committee and various sub-committees and working groups and led on preparations for the external review of the university by the QAA.And prior to that (following my Masters degree in Geography, I worked in British Columbia, Canada for 6 years, initially in community economic development and then in research grant administration at the Science Council of BC - supporting the portfolios of socio-economic issues related to the forest industry.
