Dedicated neuroscientist managing projects within the field of neurodegeneration. I thrive when researching and planning experiments, working with rodent models of disease, and when analysing and presenting the results. I have a solid background in managing scientific projects and take particular care of any resources allocated to my management.I have project management experience through my employment in biotech, in the pharmaceutical industry, and in my PhD position. In these positions, my excellent organizational skills and productivity allowed me to drive projects forward, while coordinating between internal and external stakeholders. My scientific background has involved handling rodent models, assessing chemogenetic and pharmacological interventions in behavioural assays, and conducting statistical analyses of large datasets using MATLAB, R studio, GraphPad Prism, and InVivoStat software. I thoroughly enjoyed conducting these analyses and condensing the output into informative and visually pleasing graphs, applying the phrase: “If you cannot explain it simply, then you do not understand it well enough”.

Lead Research ScientistVesper Bio Aug 2024 - PresentCopenhagen, Capital Region Of Denmark, DenmarkAs of current, my position has expanded to acting as the Research Lead across different CNS indications (mainly neurodegeneration), supporting both preclinical and clinical development of novel therapies. In this capacity, I am developing our Parkinson’s Disease program and act as Principal Investigator on our associated project (MJFF-024128). This role also involves disseminating our science and research, incl. contributing to publications, e.g. a recent Drug Discovery article on New Frontiers in Parkinson’s Disease. Furthermore, I manage stakeholder relationships, incl. with management, CROs, KOLs, and collaborators. I lead a team of scientists, and together we review literature, plan PK/PD and disease model experiments (both in vivo and in vitro, e.g. iPSC work), and provide data management, analysis, and interpretation. The team also writes grant applications to ensure research funding. -
Senior Research ScientistVesper Bio Nov 2023 - Sep 2024Copenhagen, Capital Region, DenmarkMy role was expanded to involve additional projects and more direct responsibility for stakeholder management. -
Research ScientistVesper Bio Aps Oct 2022 - Nov 2023Copenhagen, Capital Region, DenmarkI support the preclinical development of novel therapies to address unmet needs within neurodegenerative diseases. My tasks include reviewing literature, planning PK/PD and disease model experiments, and providing data management, analysis, and interpretation. -
Project WorkerLundbeck Jun 2022 - Sep 2022Copenhagen, Capital Region, DenmarkI worked on fixed-term projects at Lundbeck across different departments, including on a research project investigating in vitro alternatives to a cytotoxicity assay and an in vivo skin irritation assay. The aim of this project was to improve animal welfare and potentially increase the predictive capabilities of the animal models and experiments. I also organised a vehicle database, to provide an overview of the toxicological data. -
Phd FellowUniversity Of Copenhagen, Department Of Drug Design And Pharmacology Sep 2018 - Feb 2022CopenhagenThis research project examines pharmacological and chemogenetic interventions in the rodent continuous performance test, to assess the impact of dopamine and noradrenaline on attention and impulsivity. We also examine the contribution of different neurotransmitter receptor families towards the therapeutic effects of ADHD medications.I have also had the pleasure of supervising several master students over the years, who contributed to the project.Main Supervisor: Associate Professor Jesper T. Andreasen, PhDCo-supervisor: Assistant Professor Andreas T. Sørensen, PhDCo-supervisor: Associate Professor David P. D. Woldbye, PhD, MD -
Master Thesis StudentUniversity Of Copenhagen, Department Of Neuroscience, Panum Sep 2017 - Jun 2018This research project explored the use of gene therapy as an emerging treatment strategy for pharmaco-resistant epilepsy, affecting 30-40% of epilepsy patients. Therapeutic transgene overexpression was mediated through adeno-associated viral vectors delivered to the rodent hippocampus through stereotaxic surgery. The seizure-suppressant effects were examined in a kainic acid seizure model, with side effects on memory assessed in the Morris water maze and Y maze for spontaneous alternation. Viral vector expression was examined through immunohistochemistry staining and the quantitative polymerase chain reaction assay.Supervisor: Associate Professor David P. D. Woldbye, PhD, MD

Intern, BiopharmNovo Nordisk Feb 2016 - Aug 2016HillerødThis was a fixed-term internship in Hemophilia Factor Vlll treatment in Biopharm, Novo Nordisk. I supported the development and implementation of a new IT-based production planning system (Access Orchestrate), in order to optimise resources, prevent scheduling errors, and minimise waste. In this regard, I was very fortunate to collaborate with several different parties to collect different input for the functionality of the new system. I also developed educational material and held instructional sessions on the topic of the new planning system.Furthermore, I participated in the development of cLEAN systems to identify error types and solutions, which further supported the department's goal of minimising flaws within API production. -
