During the summer job extension, I worked in different parks through the city of Windsor as well as at the main greenhouse. Daily tasks include plant annuals, perennials, and small trees following a pre maid design or creating one from scratch either in planters or beds. Also, regular maintenance of beds and parks was realized including, but not limited to, the following: mowing and trimming grass, weeding, watering, applying amendments to the soil, leveling, pruning, trimming plants back and keeping topiary using tools such as power shears, secateurs, rakes, string trimmer, push mower, leafblowers and others.

Undergraduate Student Researcher at Ecology and Conservation of Populations Laboratory (Department of Ecology). Developed a research project with the reintroduction of howler monkeys (Alouatta guariba) at Tijuca Forest, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is part of a larger project (REFAUNA) that aims to reintroduce this and other locally extinct mammals to restore important interactions lost in impoverished forests. Fieldwork involves the use of GPS and radio telemetry to locate the animals as well as note data in a field notebook and in spreadsheets using software, such as those in the Microsoft Office package.

Undergraduate Student Researcher at Protistology Laboratory (Department of Zoology). It was developed screenings of protists using laboratory loupe and characterization of them using an optical microscope as well as scanning electron microscope (SEM). Also, I developed a taxonomy and morphology research of five species of Eutintinnus (Cariotrichea-Tintinida) from southeastern Brazil.
