I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Luminary Impact Fund, a new venture capital philanthropy fund working to improve family mental health. Previously, I served as Co-Founder and CEO of Peer Health Exchange (PHE) for twenty years, building PHE by and for young people. To date, PHE has served over 500,000 young people, empowering them to make healthy decisions, particularly on mental health. Now under the amazing leadership of Dr. Angela Glymph, PHE is serving as the leader of peer health education nationally.I have been honored to serve as the Founding Board Chair of I AM ALS, the patient-led movement started by ALS revolutionaries Brian Wallach and Sandra Abrevaya. In its first five years I AM ALS has served thousands of ALS patients, grown the movement to tens of thousands of people never engaged before, and unlocked nearly $1B in new federal dollars dedicated to ALS, serving as a model for other neurodegenerative and rare diseases. I also serve on the Board of Outer Coast, a new model for higher education in Alaska and Off Assignment, a non-profit literary magazine. I am a Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow and an Ashoka Fellow. I live in San Francisco with my husband and our three boys.
