I am Head of Learning and Development for Opus at our Bristol Head office. My role is to work with the team to deliver our induction programme, development modules and engage with senior stakeholders to identify and train our future leaders.I have a real passion for systems training on our database and on external systems we use for CV searching and advertising. My other key focus is training on social media for recruiting, specifically LinkedIn Recruiter and Twitter.I provide hands on coaching, training and mentoring through the full recruitment lifecycle with every level of stakeholder within Opus Talent Solutions from trainees to directors. I write all my own material, delivering bespoke training guided by the business needs. Providing coaching and training mainly for trainee consultants with 0-6 months recruitment experience. Delivering training in both a classroom based environment, following up with 121 individual coaching sessions, through the full recruitment lifecycle.

I started off as a resourcer at Computer Futures and worked my way up to consultant, senior consultant and Principal Consultant, running a small team. The markets I focussed on were senior appointments, java and .net developers. I was a consistantly high biller within the office. During my billing time as a permanent consultant I billed in excess of £1million.During this time I also took an 18 month sabbatical and did the Internal Recruitment role for the whole of Computer Futures Solutions. This involved recruiting staff for the whole of the UK and parts of Europe. The focus was to gain applicants from direct sources by heavily promoting the brand and consequently saving thousands of pounds in agency fees. It also involved attending recruitment and graduate career fairs nationwide, running graduate assesment days and dealing with external rec2recs.
