Independently planned, organised and managed a piece of feminist research with women to highlight the political stigmatisation of single mothers.Analysed in-depth interview data, finding common themes and identifying correlations between social views of women, single mothers and the punitive benefits system.Highlighted the long-lasting social and economic barriers which single mothers and women were facing due to government. Identified wider issues women are faced with because of their gender such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual harassment and gender discrimination. This was my first encounter with inequality and I have since been motivated to move into third sector positions where I can use my knowledge and skills to broaden understanding of marginalised communities and help facilitate change.
