I currently work as a Teaching Fellow in Medical Education at Oxford University, across the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care (EBHC) Teaching and Education and the MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership (https://www.sbs.ox.ac.uk/programmes/degrees/msc-global-healthcare-leadership) which we run jointly with the Said business school.I retain a smaller role as Senior Lecturer in Educational Development with the Oxford Centre for Academic Enhancement and Development (OCAED) at Brookes University; where I teach and coach Staff and am the academic lead for embedding a sustainability mindset across the university. I have in 2024 mentored a handful of Senior staff towards their SF HEA; and regularly supervise MSc and MBA theses in the business school. My background is in theoretical ecology and sustainability science and policy. I obtained my BSc (Biological Sciences) and PhD (Ecology) at Imperial College, and a PGCE and an MEd (Cambridge), specializing in dialogic and experiential STEM teaching. I was elected SFHEA in 2019, and received my CMALT with distinction for a project on the peer assessment of groupwork, in 2021. I was Senior Teaching Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College, teaching environment and business on the MSc Environmental Technology, between 2018 and 2021.I ran my own leadership coaching business, Lone pine coaching for about 15 years, amassing over 1000 coaching hours and facilitating many workshops for different organizations and teams. I love coaching and gradually that work has morphed into my main role at university working in educational development and teaching of faculty and students, especially executive and advanced level students who are in leadership roles.I'm a level 3 canoe coach and touring leader with Falcon Boat Club in Oxford (https://falconboatclub.org.uk/) and I like taking folk out canoeing on the beautiful Oxford backwaters, and further afield on rivers, lakes and estuaries across the UK and Europe. I have since 2018 worked prehospital shifts as a FREC 4 first responder for Enhanced Care Services (www.enhancedcareservices.co.uk), whose ethos is all about education and "doing it right".I was until recently an on-call volunteer Lowland Rescue Team Leader and First Responder (medic) for which I was awarded the Queen's Award for Lowland Rescue in 2019 and the Queens Platinum Jubilee Medal for services to Lowland Rescue in 2022. During the COVID pandemic I worked shifts as a vaccinator in Buckinghamshire.
