The Nordic Gerontological Federation (NGF) was founded 1974 as an umbrella organization for the gerontological and geriatric organizations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The primary mission of NGF is to support, organize and expand gerontological research, development and education within the Nordic countries.

Tidsskriftet Gerontologi publicerer om aldring og ældre. Artiklerne er primært baseret på forskning, men spændende udviklingsprojekter eller andre produkter kan også formidles. As a PhD Fellow affiliated with Center for Healthy Aging, I focus on the subjective and cultural understandings of ageing in later life: how does growing older influence the experiences of body, self and future, and in what ways do we think of ageing and elderly people in the Danish welfare state? Using ethnographic fieldwork, my research examines processes of rehabilitation; the aim is to contribute new knowledge about life in old age that is informed by elderly people’s perspectives, and to bring their voices into the discussion about what it means to grow older in Denmark.Teaching:Anthropological & Ethnological MethodMaster of Applied Cultural Analysis, together with Marc Vacher & Tom O'Dell.Both courses were for international students and were taught in English.Visiting Scholar at Institute for Health & Aging, University of California, San Francisco, with professor in Medical Anthropology, Sharon Kaufman.Current research project: Rehabilitating the frail body: An exercise of Hope.

Planned and taught the course Medical Anthropology together with 2 other anthropologists.

As a research assistant with the EGV Foundation I independently carried out an ethnographic research project on the social dimensions of the foundations group travels for frail elderly. The results were published in a report - En uges socialt fællesskab - and presented for the board as well as on a conference celebrating EGV's 100 year birthday.
