Born in China, raised in Sweden, and now based in Paris, Louise Xin is a self-taught, Multi-award-winning fashion designer, artist and the founder of Scandinavia's first rental-only, non-sale couture brand, Louise Xin Couture. She discovered the world of couture and began experimenting with upcycled materials by the end of 2019. During the pandemic in 2020, she made the decision to start a rental-only brand as a humble attempt to inspire a change in consumption patterns and customer behaviour.With a passion for sustainability and a goal to create a circular brand, Xin ventured into humanitarian work. In the fall of 2021, she dedicated her debut fashion show to human rights, which gained worldwide viral attention and earned her international recognition. This achievement resulted in two awards and five nominations/recognitions within her first two years after the debut show. Furthermore, she was selected by the European Parliament as a Sakharov fellow and made history by hosting the first-ever fashion show inside the Parliament in March 2023, raising awareness about forced labour and modern slavery in the fashion industry.Since then, Xin has been delivering lectures, speaking for the UN, TEDx, and Spotify, to name a few. She has also been collaborating with the Swedish Royal Opera, doing workshops and talks for universities and fashion schools, and participating in exhibitions held in museums, art galleries, and luxury malls.
