The Moving Picture Company - EngineerI work as part of the video engineering team looking after technology planning, implementation and support in both commercials and features departments at The Moving Picture Co. My primary role is the support and development of all the Apple Mac OS X based technology in the organisation - the majority of these systems being used for video production.Secondary roles include pipeline development, software development/scripting (in particular automated transcoding processes), on-set support and support/development of MPC's web-based client approval system MPCTV (www.mpctv.com).In my time at MPC I have worked on numerous feature films, commercials and promo's, in particular Slumdog Millionaire (for which I received an RnD credit), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, British Heart Foundation - Watch Your Own Heart Attack and An as yet unreleased Nike Commercials directed by Jonathan Glazer for which I was one of a team of three from MPC London to work on-set in Toronto.At MPC I have gained particular experience in a number of important technologies including, Autodesk IFFFS, DVS clipster/SAN solutions, StorNEXT/Apple XSan Avid Editing Systems, Pixar's Alfred, Red Hat Linux and numerous new digital acquisition formats including the Red ONE

'Mac Genius', Apple certified service engineer, working for Apple Retail UK in central London. Specialising in hardware and software troubleshooting, customer relations and repair management.

Tutoring people of all ages and abilities in the use of the digital recording studio and theory / practice of digital sound production. This includes instruction of the following areas and equipment: ProTools, Soundscape, Steinberg and Logic Audio DAW's, analogue and digital mixing consoles, live and studio recording techniques, synthesis, sampling and MIDI sequencing.Freelance sound engineering. Working with musicians and songwriters of all genres, recording, mixing, producing and mastering finished tracks, albums and live events.My biggest project at LRA was a complete audio rebrand of the Falkland Islands Radio Service. This involved the writing, recording and production of entirely new Jingles and Idents (including voice-overs) for the station, the new material first went on air on the 15th August 2005.

I took the role of Visual and Musical Director in a modern day interpretation of West Side Story, performed by a cast entirely made up of High School pupils. The show was performed on three consecutive nights at The Courtyard Arts Centre in Hereford. The project received financial help and advice from West Midlands Arts. Producing a complete original soundtrack and background visuals for the above show. This involved training members of the production team in: use of video cameras, sound and lighting engineering and live video mixing. Organising workshops by professional vocalists and dancers for the members of the cast. Final products from this project other than the performances included a 45-minute music video and full CD sound track.
