Summers 2016 and 2017: 2 summers' experience as a Field Technician (summer student).Responsibilities: • On-site soil density testing with nuclear density gauge;• On-site fresh concrete slump and air tests and casting of cylinders for strength testing;• On-site supervision of concrete and steel-driven pile installations to match engineering specifications;• Assisting in the lab with Proctor tests, sieve analyses and moisture content determination;• Office tasks including entering test results, sending results to clients, and preparing AutoCAD drawings;• Delivering and collecting supplies and samples;• Care and control of a company-issued vehicle.Note: This position consisted mainly of field work on construction sites. I am therefore quite comfortable on jobsites and mindful of the health and safety precautions inherent to this type of work environment. I am used to wearing a full set of personal protective equipment (PPE) and observing routine safety precautions in my daily work. This includes the handling of a radioactive nuclear density gauge.
