Nobody calls 911 because they’re having a good day. In fact, as a Police Officer I interacted with people in true crisis often on the worst day of their life. That job was the ultimate education in active listening, de-escalation, solution identification, difficult conversation delivery all while prioritizing customer service and team cohesion. I have experience as a field training officer, a teacher within a police academy setting, a mentor and mentor board member, and a Subject Matter Expert in technical investigations. When things get hard and stressful I am someone you can count on to deliver, perform, and do what needs to be done to reach a goal. I am honored to receive the Medal of Distinguished Service twice in my career. The first time was for responding out of my jurisdiction during an active barricaded gunmen to help provide safety and security to the citizens of Edgewater, Colorado. The second and most proud professional moment was awarded after performing a single officer rescue and saving the life of a fellow officer while under the threat of violence after they were shot by an active shooter during a public rampage that went between Denver and Lakewood, Colorado in 2021.I believe that small connections and personal experiences make a dynamic impact in someone's personal or professional life. I know that I can make a different and am driven to do just that. I find joy in watching others succeed. I maintain that everyone deserves support and guidance in their quest to achieve their goals.
