It seems like yesterday - but it was in 1987 - when a young colleague of mine gave me a laptop PC. It didn't have any programs installed and it was programmed in some kind of script like Fortran or something similar so there wasn't a thing that I could do with it but marvel at it and dream of its potential capabilities. I taught myself some code and learned to perform some rudimentary functions but just when I was starting to get somewhere, someone stole it. Took it right off my desk while I was in a meeting. I was devastated. And even though the Leukemia Society didn't have the budget to replace that little laptop, my fascination with computers and the Internet began to grow, and grow, and grow.Today, I'm the CEO of Louisville Web Group and I have the pleasure of working with some of the industry's finest individuals - developers with passion, integrity and skill. We have clients that are equally remarkable from Silicon Valley to Boston and lots of places in between. And we make magical things happen online. It's been a great ride and I've enjoyed every moment of it!But I've never forgotten that little laptop and, to this day, I wish it were still mine. Someday, I'll find it in a yard sale or junk store somewhere and when I do, I'll have it bronzed and placed on my office wall, where it deserves to be, because its what got all this started.
