Loukas Angelou studied Marketing and 3D Design with direction in Ceramics, Glass and Jewellery. In 2007 continued his studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design of London where he graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) in Product Design.He has collaborated as a product designer in projects for companies such as Procter & Gample, Habitat and IKEA as well as with design studios in London such as Paul Cocksedge and VW+BS (viewport studio) in projects for Swarowski Palace in Milan 2010, for BMW’s stand in Milan 2011 and Poliform. He has also designed the first set of products of Marta Collection for Bib&Sola. At present still London based and as the co-founder of STUDIOLAV and papairlines, he has collaborated with Hayward Gallery, Barbican Center, Industrial Gas Museum in Athens, Skoufa Gallery and Benaki Museum while he has an ongoing collaboration with Central Working as an interior stylist and product design consultant. He has also taken part in design conferences in Europe where he lectured on a variety of subjects about design today. In 2013 he was nominated for the prestigious award of EDIDA (Elle Decoration International Design Awards) under the category of Young Talent Designer of the Year and he was shortlisted for the BIO23 Design Biennial Award in Ljubljana in 2012 under the category Back to Crafts. The year 2015 finds him selected among 12000 entries, to exhibit at Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and among the winners of the Young Balkan Designers competition Common Grounds, which led to a design residency with leading regional manufacturers.Loukas Angelou is always looking for new challenges and keeping creatively active by working with STUDIOLAV and papairlines as well as taking on freelance projects both in the UK and abroad in the fields of product and interior design. He has also enriched his portfolio with the creative direction of new businesses in Greece, Singapore and London.
