As the art director for Canada’s oldest student newspaper, it was my responsibility to perform an entire makeover of the product. From implementing a stricter production workflow in co-ordination with the editor-in-chief to tidying up the layout, we saw the pick-up rate rise to uncomparable levels from previous years.

As an in-house graphic designer for Aliant I worked closely with the marketing department creating direct marketing materials, bill inserts and store-front signage as well as creating internal posters and informational material for the Customer Service and Mobility departments. During this time I also handled graphic design work for other local Xerox sites including Nova Scotia Power Inc. and Farmers Dairy.

On-set production designer for the independent film "A Bug and a Bag of Weed." Faced with a very limited budget and shooting schedule I assisted the creative director and art department in creating much of the backdrop for a locally produced movie. As a graphic designer for Xerox based out of their Emera Inc. / Nova Scotia Power print shop, I handled projects ranging from business cards to direct marketing materials. I was trained in a variety of reprographics and bindery systems as well as running a Heidelberg Quickmaster 2 color press. During this time I also handled graphic design work for other local Xerox sites including several local branches of The Royal Bank of Canada, Farmers Dairy, Saint Mary’s University and Aliant.

I was hired for a short term period as a graphic designer for Xerox based out of their Aliant office. I worked mainly on producing print collateral for Aliant sponsored events throughout Atlantic Canada as well as all print material for the Aliant 2003 AGM.

I designed the front-end to the launch version of the IFCtv.ca website, as well as numerous mini-sites for every inhouse IFC television show. I also assisted the creative director and motion designer in developing logos for on-air usage and various promotional tie-ins, as well as IFC promotional material to be distributed through the website (screensavers, backgrounds, etc).
