Role: Wired and Wireless Network Architect.Architected and planned implementation for a complete wired network, network security, and wireless overhaul of US Discount Retail Client ‘sin-store communications. Transformed the US Discount Retail Client ‘s network from a flat landscape to a segmented VLAN structure, created a new subnetting scheme, designed a new PCI-compliant firewall ruleset, and implemented an 802.11n wireless network using EAP-PEAP and secured by a WIPs solution.Client: Global Chemical Client, Agricultural Division, Indianapolis, IN. Role: Wireless Network Survey Lead. Developed a new 802.11n wireless network for a first-tier chemical corporation’s world headquarters campus. Met with key stakeholders, gathered requirements and determined business needs, gained buy-in with disparate groups within the company, and packaged these efforts into a series of well-received deliverables.Client: Big 4 Financial Institutional Client, IT Division, Chandler, AZ. Wireless Infrastructure, Network EngineeringAssumed ownership of wireless data network direction across all US and Canada Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs including design & architecture decisions, deployment efforts, and support documentation & coordination. Had responsibility for network service to over 600 million sq. ft. of retail space. Lead core teams as project lead on multiple concurrent large-scale projects. Each solution was deployed to thousands of locations and included budgets exceeding $10 million. Responsibilities included requirements gathering, design & architecture, budgeting, team selection, capital approval up through the CIO, as well as progress reports to the customer.Initiated the Sam’s Club Guest WiFi Hotspot project, implementing a pilot in the Bentonville Sam’s Club, presenting the idea to then-CEO Doug McMillon of Sam’s Club, architecting a chain-wide technical solution to support the feature, and assisting in the rollout to all US Sam’s Clubs.Innovated as the wireless security lead for Walmart's infrastructure area.
