My entire career has been in retail and I have learned so much about leading the successful growth of a retail business and its people. I have learned about the characteristics of the various domestic and international markets. These experiences have taught me how to lead across cultural boundaries and how to analyze market opportunities. I have learned that businesses need to evolve and that today's business model is not necessarily the model that we will need tomorrow. This mindset incorporated into strategic planning provides for a business environment that thrives on developing people and drives motivation across the organization.My retail journey has taken me from store level to board level and taught me that the customer has to be at the foundation of every decision governing strategy and investment. Carefully navigating the strategic planning process and financial planning has given me the skills to drive results for all stakeholders.Another key learning of my retail journey has been the market analysis and investments made in acquiring several international businesses that were successfully integrated and grown into highly profitable operations. Managing the due diligence process, building financial models and successfully leading acquired company's personnel through the process and helping them focus on a brighter future was incredibly rewarding.My experiences have given me all the skills I need to bring a retail business to new heights and I look forward to sharing and learning from all new encounters! In addition, my experiences have shown me the importance of building diverse/empowered teams that know they are building something special and will benefit both professionally and personally.
