About Alex Low

I have a good balance in research and developing industry products. I have worked in a variety of engineering areas - from being a hardware/embedded engineer, to being a researcher/signal processing engineer whereby I developed audio algorithms for the mobile phone industry. I currently switched fields focusing in image processing for the video production industry. I have an inquisitive mind fuelled by the thirst for knowledge. I am a firm believer in teamwork, as I believe sharing knowledge is one of the keys to product success. I am also a firm believer in paying attention to details. My experience has given me the opportunity to go through the whole process of product development – from creating the first “proof of concept” all the way down to the final product. This includes research and prototyping; embedded hardware and software designing; testing and verification; finally manufacturing. What I can bring with my experience is:★ Planning and Organization Skill• To minimise assembly errors, I created a design guide for PCB designers to follow thus resulting in a reduction of production cost by 20% when I was working in Bitwise, Shanghai.• Step-by-step documentation of DSP algorithms which include researching methodologies, modeling & simulations, to development & deployment on real-time DSP hardware. ★ Problem Solver and Ability to Deliver•I was a member of the R&D team in Bitwise Shanghai involved in the development of an anti-bacterial air treatment device used by food processing factories, hospitals, veterinary surgeons and laboratories in Europe and Australia. The product has been HACCP certified.• I was a member of an R&D team in Cirrus logic working on a tight deadline for major mobile phones and phone tablet manufacturers. We developed state-of-the-art background noise and wind reduction algorithms for improved voice quality on mobile handsets. ★ Presenting and Publishing Technical Papers in Prestigious Conferences and Journals
