Mr. Geoffrey Lowe obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2011 from Concordia University. Over the course of his studies, he gained experience in the theory of the protection of electrical equipment, distribution networks and power systems.Upon obtaining his degree, Mr. Lowe joined AECL from June 2011 to June 2015. Mr. Lowe obtained four years of professional experience working for the electrical engineering support division in a nuclear reactor. He obtained experience working with both the electrical distribution system on site as well as the emergency hazard qualified electrical distribution system. He has gained valuable experience in the maintenance, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, the effects of age related degradation mechanisms and writing and reviewing technical reports.In June 2015, Mr. Lowe joined BMT. In this position, Mr. Lowe has broadened his professional experience to include the marine industry. He has supported a wide range of marine platforms in a combination of projects. Typical tasks involved field surveys, preliminary and detailed electrical design (power and I&C), feasibility reports and electrical power analysis.
