Design and development of data ingestion and storage systems to support operational, engineering, and data science efforts, and to characterize Divvy’s current and future real estate portfolio.Selected Projects:• Designed and implemented a comprehensive system to ingest, curate, and serve real estate data from multiple external sources to all internal Divvy processes. Overhauled existing data model to improve performance and introduce data change tracking. Built REST API for standardized access to underlying data.• Automation and consolidation of operations spreadsheets, external API data, and engineering platform data into Snowflake data warehouse for analysis, reporting, and export.• Developed "reverse" ETL processeses for porting data out of Snowflake data warehouse.

Software Architect supporting Tesla’s transition to high-volume production. Designing software systems for governing material flow, data collection & aggregation, and reporting/response applications for vehicle production. Regularly partnering with internal teams to develop solutions to analyze a wide range of production issues and to accelerate continuous improvement processes.Selected Projects:• Designed a generalized control system for material flow and storage hardware. Provided primary software development for orchestration, routing, process, and messaging components. Applied to numerous conveyance and automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) across several factories. • Application layer design (micro-service architecture leveraging stream processing) for evolving existing kanban MES to meet the dynamic re-supply needs of the high-density Model 3 production line.• Developed a data collection network with a distributed micro-service architecture for flexibly routing factory and supply chain data into a central analytics platform.• Full-Stack design and development: System for determination of bottlenecks in the value-stream, based on a graph model for supporting complex and intersecting flow patterns.• Delivered a proof-of-concept for an independent hot-call system, including hardware for user interaction, high-level communications protocols, and supporting server-side infrastructure.• Demonstration application for illustrating how to apply machine learning techniques to current scrap processing workflows within Model S&X General Assembly lines.• Concept system for automating motion studies in Industrial Engineering, blending commercial RF tracking system with custom built communication and server architecture.• Rudimentary video image processing algorithms for deriving Industrial Engineering motion study data from existing CCTV systems

Ad hoc reporting against warehoused data, including ETL development and architecting new data repositories for reshaping data to fit specialized analysis needs.Selected Projects:• Developed a comprehensive stochastic simulation of factory automation processes, providing detailed analysis and exposing flaws in design and scalability of prototype system. Partnered with external vendor to apply learnings to a new automation framework, resulting in an improved design.• Developed cleaning algorithms and metrics for measuring correlated behavior in RF-active hardware with extremely sparse data, which identified several previously unrealized RF-active candidates.• Developed a system for collecting metadata on factory data pipelines and characterizing data submission patterns. Analysis produced predictive models for future collection demands, allowing teams to identify and avoid collection system failures.

High-speed trigger electronics hardware.Selected Projects:• Developed a simulation to investigate effect of observatory geometry on gamma-ray detection performance. Simulation used to demonstrated critical bias/sampling effects within the detector.• Improved and brought into production a detailed simulation of the detector's electronic trigger. Simulation allowed for end-to-end simulations of detector performance, including effects of noise and viewing angle.• Led selection effort for extra-galactic observing targets based on current state of the field, including potential cooperative efforts with other observatories targeting key scientific questions, as well as technical considerations in proving viability of the observatory.• Provided complete data anlaysis for observing campaign, resulting in first extra-galactic signal detected by our equipment. Results published in peer-reviewed scientific journal.
