About Lowell Phillips

My passion for food began early—at age ten, baking a chocolate cake with my mother. Even then, I was fascinated by how simple ingredients could transform into something delicious. (And yes, I licked the bowl. Who wouldn't?) Food isn’t just sustenance—it’s joy, connection, and a shared experience that transcends cultures. This love for food naturally led me to a career dedicated to its safety and quality.At Georgia Southern University, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Food Science and became ServSafe Food Protection Certified. This education sparked a deep interest in food safety, specifically in preventing contamination and foodborne illnesses. Since then, I've built a fulfilling career focused on ensuring food safety and quality in every phase of the production process.Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with professionals across the food industry. I thrive on teamwork, tackling challenges, and creating solutions through root cause analysis and preventive actions. I believe in continuous learning, respect for my colleagues, and recognizing their contributions to our shared success.As I continue to grow as a food safety professional, my goals are to: • Expand my leadership skills every year. • Be a valuable team player and leader. • Advocate for food safety as an educator and mentor.Passion, enthusiasm, and teamwork are my drivers.
