About Sonya Lowry, Cissp, Mcs

I’m a cybersecurity strategist and technical expert, passionate about helping organizations build resilient, future-proof systems. With over 25 years of experience, I specialize in transforming cybersecurity from a reactive, centralized model to a proactive, distributed, and service-oriented approach.I’m the creator of the Federated Cyber-Risk (FCR) methodology, developed during my work with the University of Arizona. FCR reimagines cybersecurity as a shared responsibility across the organization. By empowering departments to take ownership of their risks while maintaining centralized coordination, FCR enables organizations to defend themselves more effectively against today’s evolving threats. As the founder of SibylSoft, I lead the development of Sibylity, the FCR-enabling platform. Originally created for higher education, Sibylity has since evolved into a cross-industry solution that helps businesses manage cybersecurity risks at scale. The platform operationalizes FCR, embedding cybersecurity into daily processes while maintaining oversight.I offer a range of cybersecurity consultation services—from introductory sessions that explain FCR to comprehensive, hands-on engagements where I guide you through adoption and rollout. On the technical side, I help startups build and scale Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) quickly and efficiently. Using full stack development, infrastructure as code, and AI-driven experiences, I design solutions that allow startups to differentiate themselves while minimizing operational overhead. I focus on creating scalable, adaptable MVPs that are secure from day one and ready to grow as your business evolves. With deep expertise in both cybersecurity and development, I understand the importance of moving quickly without sacrificing security. My goal is to ensure that your product is fast to market yet robust enough to handle growth and evolving cyber threats. What sets me apart is my ability to bridge the gap between cybersecurity governance and technical implementation. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your organization’s security posture with FCR or you’re a startup ready to launch a scalable, secure MVP, I can help.Contact me at sonya@sonyalowry.com for independent consulting or info@sibylsoft.com for Sibylity or combined services.
