Code Search is Sourcegraph's core value proposition.I took on Search at Sourcegraph in September 2020, and grew it from a single team of 4 engineers to two teams totalling 10 engineers, all-remote and globally distributed. For the first year, I was also acting Product Manager for Search at Sourcegraph, and as such was accountable for setting direction and strategy of the product area in alignment with the goals of the business.During my tenure:- We shipped numerous major product features, such as Search Contexts, Code Monitoring, or Search Notebooks, closing known product gaps or growing Sourcegraph's competitive edge. Several of these started out as engineering-driven, with the teams consistently balancing ongoing commitments with exploratory work.- We grew the global sourcegraph.com index of open source repositories from 300k to 2.5M, bringing considerable scale and performance gains to Sourcegraph customers in the process.- I defined engineering hiring needs and managed the hiring pipeline for Search.- I also onboarded engineering managers, designers, product managers onto Search, fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration throughout.- I was involved in a number of cross-team engineering management projects, notably drafting and implementing the initial definition for the Staff Engineer role at Sourcegraph.

Moved into engineering management at Sourcegraph as we implemented our initial EM layer.Helped draft the initial team breakdown, and took on 4 engineers in the Web team, which owned Sourcegraph's webapp and code host integrations (browser extension, native integrations with Phabricator and Bitbucket Server). I set the strategy and direction of the team.Built and managed a hiring pipeline to grow frontend talent at Sourcegraph, hiring and onboarding 5 engineers.

Tech lead on Dashlane's semantic analysis team, powering Dashlane's industry-leading form-filling capabilities.Port of Dashlane's browser extensions codebase from legacy Javascript to modern Typescript. Automation of the build and and staged deployment processes. Implementation of Dashlane's new standalone extension architecture, allowing the browser extensions to provide the full Dashlane experience without the presence of a companion desktop app. Dashlane's browser extensions are used by several million everyday, across all mainstream browsers.Full rewrite of Dashlane's semantic analysis engine from C++ (100K+ LOC) to test-driven, modular Typescript using a modern architecture: business logic and core algorithms expressed as pure functions, Flux-style state management, and internal task scheduling leveraging Javascript's asynchronous constructs to perform heavy processing in a non-blocking, efficient fashion. The new engine was deployed across all platforms suported by Dashlane, as a Typescript module or an SDK embedded in native code depending on the environment.
