I'm an aspiring financial planner, experienced student leader, and enthusiastic member of close-knit, high-functioning teams.I remember the first time I looked at my parent's budget—two pieces of paper stuck to the refrigerator scribbled with red, blue, and black ink, receipts sticking out behind the pages, and tiny numbers littering the free space between the columns. Chaos. But, what to me looked like a haphazard mess was actually a highly organized system. Through years together, my parents found a consistent method to stay financially organized, and although I prefer to keep my finances organized digitally, their example of cultivating responsible, life-long financial health has stuck with me.Currently, I'm a junior finance student at Messiah University with a minor in accounting and a concentration in financial planning, and I'm dedicated to helping others improve their financial health through basic financial literacy, self-awareness, and strategic investments. The heart of my studies, employment, and volunteering are aimed at this goal, and I'm excited for future opportunities to apply these experiences.I also have years of experience in various student leadership positions, through which I've learned that leadership is ultimately influence, which is both daunting and exhilarating. Every project, conversation, or responsibility is an opportunity to positively influence others, and I've found the most satisfaction and value by pursuing influence through teams.I thrive in team-intensive environments and have refined my online and in-person interpersonal communication skills through years of serving in different intergenerational, intercultural, and global teams. I love team-building and finding individual strengths to form high-functioning, deeply connected, competent teams who directly change and improve the lives of our communities and peers.
