Capital execution for multiple UOP sites on the gulf coast. Working with a team of Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Construction Managers. Driving robust scope development, robust project plan, and safe execution...on time and under budget of course.

Day to day and strategic oversight of UOP's catalyst manufacturing plant in McCook, IL. Team consisted of 28 operators, two maintenance techs, one maintenance planner. Drove high OEE (uptime and throughput) by managing maintenance needs and staffing. Ensure then entire team had the tools and knowledge they need to meet daily production targets across 3 - 5 production lines including solid and liquid catalyst production on a 24/7 schedule.

The Area Leader role was developed to increase face to face interaction with the front line leadership of the production group. The four area leaders are responsible for between four and six high volume production lines of various chemical and mechanical processes. The Area Leader interacts with a broad range of disciplines above and below on the org chart, so the individual must maintain a strong technical prowess and understanding of the businesses needs. This role is in practice the same as a Reliability Engineer. The OEE project aspect refers to high profile equipment that was specifically identified over all others as being priority based on needs over a course of 5 years. This look ahead would eliminate current system failures while preparing the system for future productions demands.

The Honeywell facility in Spokane, Washington provides high purity metal parts and consumables to the semiconductor industry. Sputtering targets on the consumables side, interconnects, and packaging material (both raw and finished parts) on the parts side. Activities within the plant span a wide range of manual and automated processes: - Casting of high purity metals- Metallurgical conditioning - forging, heat treating, etc- Machining, both manual and Computer Numeric Control- Chemical cleaning/surface preparation- Packaging to maintain the high purity levelMajor focus is on the Alumium casting process, specifically quality improvement and equipment upgrades. In a facility such as this one (widget making) the human process is just as important as the actual work applied to the part. Lean practices are vital in this operation to maintain production flow, quality, and profitability.

Honeywell's Electronic Materials business provides ultra high purity materials to the semiconductor industry. Quality is measured in the parts per billion (ppb) to parts per trillion (ppt) level of purity. Electronic Chemicals supplies several different etchants, both acids and bases, directly to fabs around the world. Census is low at all EC facilities so the Plant Engineer often fills several different roles. - Capital administration- Assist plant management with roll out of company work management system- Site engineering needs- Site maintenance needs - based on past experience with systems- Fill in for plant management as needed- Work directly with customer service as needed to resolve issues close to the point of use level within the fabUnderstanding of not only the process, but the equipment itself is absolutely critical. Reliability focuses on maximizing uptime and availability of equipment. These goals are accomplished through predictive and proactive activities such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic listening as well as mechanical integrity/fitness for service evaluations. Non destructive testing and lubrication are other means of preventing failures.Assigned to improve mean time between failures of material classifying equipment. Proposal implemented and increased time between failures by almost 600%.Assisted with supervision and training efforts during union lockout 6/2010 - 10/2010.
