Linus Pauling Inst. Powered By Oranges Email and Phone Number
Faculty, staff and students of the Linus Pauling Institute have created a running team to participate in the Cascade Lakes Relay on August 5-6, 2011. Our 12-member team, aptly named “Linus Pauling Institute–Powered by Oranges,” will have to cover a whopping 216 miles in the beautiful Oregon Cascade Mountains, running day and night. In addition to running in the race to promote the fundamental principles found in the Institute’s “Rx for Health” http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/lpirx2.html we are raising money to support the Institute’s life-saving research on cancer, heart disease, and other debilitating diseases and to educate the public about the critical importance of physical activity and a healthful diet in achieving a healthy body weight and optimum health. Your support makes it possible for us to make new discoveries that help people everywhere remain active, full of vitality, and disease-free well into their senior years! While you can donate as much as you would like, we have developed four contribution levels. They are: Team LPI - $216 which is $1 for every mile the team will be running in the Cascade Lakes Relay. Pauling's Prize - $100 which is named after the founder of the Linus Pauling Institute. Frei's Friends - $50 which is titled after the current director of the Institute, Dr. Balz Frei. Rx for Health - $20 which is titled after the prescription for health: healthy eating, healthy lifestyle and dietary supplements Please donate at www.active.com/donate/lpioranges to help the research we are conducting at the Linus Pauling Institute. We also invite you to follow us on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/lpioranges to get Dr. Balz Frei's Health Tip of the Week, follow his training program, get updates on the Cascade Lakes Relay, read news articles on Healthy Aging and see other information pertaining to the Linus Pauling Institute.
