Modelling and simulation of weapon systems at DRDC - Valcartier.

- Plan and conduct a research project about wide-area ground moving target indication (GMTI) using multichannel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data acquired from space.- Model and simulate the signal acquired by a space-based SAR sensor, for several data acquisition strategies.- Develop MATLAB functions to process the SAR signal: SAR image formation, GMTI and signal reconstruction to improve the spatial resolution or ground coverage (high-resolution wide-swath processing, HRWS).- Oral and poster presentations at international scientific conferences (RadarConf 2017, EUSAR 2016, IRS 2016, ASAR 2015), 3rd International Summer School on Radar/SAR (2011).- Supervised by Prof. Jean-Yves Chouinard and Dr. Christoph Gierull (DRDC - Ottawa, adjunct professor at Université Laval).

Research contract for the European Space Agency (ESA): Ship detection using a dual-channel ScanSAR mode on RADARSAT-2.

Three internships in 2011, 2013 and 2014 (total of 10 months) under the supervision of Dr. Christoph Gierull.- Develop MATLAB tools to process multichannel SAR data acquired from space: imaging, ground moving target indication (GMTI) and high-resolution wide-swath (HRWS).- Tests with dual-channel stripmap SAR and ScanSAR data acquired by RADARSAT-2.- Develop MATLAB tools to read and analyze RADARSAT-2 and Sentinel-1 data acquired in the TOPSAR mode.- Develop MATLAB functions to simulate the radiation pattern of an array antenna with arbitrary transmit and receive configurations, including multiple receive channels.

M.Sc. research project in remote sensing under the supervision of Pr. Ramata Magagi and Pr. Robert Leconte (Department of Civil Engineering).Research topic: Soils freeze/thaw cycles monitoring in agricultural areas using spaceborne passive microwave and polarimetric SAR data.- Develop Python scripts and functions to manipulate remote sensing data acquired by various sensors and analyze their temporal and spatial behaviors.- Plan and carry out several field measurement campaigns in agricultural sites in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Québec.

Two internships in 2006 and 2007 (total of 8 months) under the supervision of Dr. Dirk Geudtner and Dr. Ralph Girard.- Develop C/C++ and IDL functions to read and display spaceborne SAR data acquired by ENVISAT-ASAR and ERS-1/2.- Analyze ENVISAT-ASAR data acquired in the ScanSAR mode, and develop C functions to perform interferometric processing with these data.

Internship under the supervision of Pr. David Sénéchal.Plan and carry out numerical simulations on the Mammouth supercomputer, to study the antiferromagnetic and superconductive properties of a crystalline cluster.
