“If not now, when? If not me, then who?”I am a current MPH student concentrating in Health Policy and Management at Georgia State. I believe we all have a unique role in bridging the gaps in healthcare, across the spectrum of need. Before returning to school, my social work background provided me hands-on experience navigating health-related services on a micro and mezzo level alongside clients and care teams (primarily inpatient psych, HIV, and housing subsidy programs). My strong drive is directly rooted in this experience, among others - focused on amplifying communities impacted through program and policy decisions. My areas of focus include: community-driven decision making, improving access and quality of our healthcare delivery system, harm reduction practice and policy, and program implementation and evaluation. Currently, I am working on a qualitative research project for my capstone, exploring themes in healthcare experiences for transgender adults in Atlanta. I am also assisting with pilot implementation of Georgia’s first Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program, through literature reviews, qualitative interviews and analysis, and overall program development.
