At TransCanada in the Central SCADA team, I concentrated in resolving new problems and support requests within a fast paced and change prone environment. These problems consisted of SCADA point commissioning, network & communication fixes, display altercations, and alarm management, often with very tight deadlines.My day to day tasks require me to understand SCADA architecture, hardware links, protocol, data exchange (OPC), and how to configure and query SCADA points in an SQL database.For alarm management and point commissioning, I have written and tested several Visual Basic .NET logic equations and functions using an OPC Client application for configuring calculation based SCADA points such as alarm management and unit conversion.What I enjoy the most in my role at TransCanada is that I learn something new everyday, in both technical and soft core related skills.

Team ZEUS is a multidisciplinary Schulich Engineering group that designs, builds, and races electric motorcycles. I was elected to become the Vice President of Electrical Engineering for the 2015-2016 year, by the members of Team ZEUS. This past summer, I revamped and rebuilt the Zephyr motorcycle. The Zephyr went on to compete in the international eMotoRacing event, last September, against other electric motorcycles designed by multi-million dollar companies and experienced hobbyists. As VP Electrical Engineering, I design, build and delegate tasks related to the development of electric motorcycles (or other projects), while coordinating with the mechanical team. I manage several sub-teams that fall under the category of electrical engineering and I am responsible for maintaining positive relationships between members, supervisors, and affiliates to the club.

One of my key projects as a Battery Team Lead included managing and contributing to the Honeycomb Battery Pack Design and Development project. The scope of this project involved building a battery pack out of extra lithium ion cells that we had in our inventory, and to design it to power our prototype motor that Team Zeus had built in the past years. Further, I was also engaged in researching new battery chemistries for our next generation electric superbike. This experience was the start of my journey in learning about lithium ion batteries, electric drives, motors, fuses, AutoCAD, structural design, and material design. My greatest accomplishment in this role was learning about all the fundamentals of this industry and about practical strategies in electrical design and manufacturing, and then relaying my findings to my team such that we were all able to grow as knowledgeable engineers together.

My time in this role flourished my ability to manage conflicts, to stay calm when challenged with adversities, and to stay positive above all, in a fast pace environment. I was always trying to connect to clients by using my strong interpersonal skills, and by providing above and beyond customer service so that all the clients' needs are met. I also developed a strong work ethic during my time at Enterprise Holdings. During times where my team was struggling to meet the demands of our business, I would do all I can to help, such as helping at the cleaning center to clean dirty cars so that we can deliver clean cars to customers faster. Due to my successes in this role I received many appreciation cards from customers, and was offered a promotion by my managers.

In this role, organizational skills is key. I learned various methods to effectively stay organized and manage time such as a Bring-Forward filing system, creating a task list, and creating schedules. I also learned about the Canadian laws that are in place for any instrument that measures weight and volume. I was exposed to the tools and theorem that are used to do a quality check on measurement instruments of weight and volume.
