As an Intern Cyber Security Engineer at MillenniumIT ESP - Security Operations Center, I contributed to securing enterprise environments by creating custom analytical rules for scenarios without logs and deploying Data Collection Rules (DCRs) to enhance data ingestion and improve threat analysis. I was actively involved in Security Operations Center (SOC) implementations, utilizing Azure Sentinel and FortiSIEM for real-time threat detection, incident analysis, and log management.My responsibilities included analyzing Windows Event Logs, integrating secure systems, and focusing on secure communication, configuration, and remediation to strengthen the organization’s security posture. Additionally, I leveraged Kusto Query Language (KQL) for advanced threat identification and mitigation, automated data synchronization with GitHub using a Bash script for hourly updates, and assessed FortiSIEM admin activity exclusions to ensure rule compliance. I also analyzed executive summary dashboards within FortiSIEM and provided suggestions to enhance data visualization and insights.
